How Do Tilt and Turn Windows Work?

We design our windows to maximize airflow into the home. How this works is you can tilt the window open. This inward tilt allows you to air out your home on comfortable days. Meanwhile, you also have the ability to swing the window open similar to the way conventional models work. Here’s how simple they are to operate:

Types of Tilt and Turn Windows

With us, you’ll have your choice of three window types. The first, our Global 70, is three times stronger than your average window thanks to the reinforced steel. Meanwhile, our Global 86 Window is two times more energy efficient than the mandates set by ENERGY STAR. Our newest window, the Alwood Classic, will be available soon.

Quick Comparison Facts

1.5x-2x efficiency
All of our tilt and turn windows are at least 50% more energy efficient than what is required by ENERGY STAR® certification standards.

3-4x stronger
A steel reinforced frame strengthens the entire window, keeping the structure intact without bending. All windows are guaranteed for 100 years.

1.8-2x soundproof
All of our windows are 80-100% more soundproof than that of most architectural-grade windows, keeping out the sounds of lawnmowers, cars, etc.

3x secure
With multi-point locking system and optional impact rated Triplex® or bulletproof glass, these windows are 3x more secure than the average window.
Tilt and Turn VS Casement Windows

Casement Window

Tilt and Turn Window
When comparing European and American windows, you’ll notice some differences. First, with American models such as casement windows, you’ll crank not pull to open the window. While they offer some usability advantages, they don’t deliver the same functionality or energy efficiency found in tilt and turn windows. Because tilt and turn windows tilt open inwardly, they are easier to clean. Moreover, European windows deliver the highest levels of energy efficiency for residential windows, making them a smart choice if you want to reduce your home’s carbon footprint.

Available Enhancements

Hurricane-Proof
An optional upgrade is a Triplex glass, 2mm thick glass panes glued together, working as a car windshield. It offers extra impact resistance and security. Damaged glass won’t shatter, instead, it will crack, which keeps home temporarily secure until the window is replaced.

Thickness matters
All of our standard glass is no less than 1⁄6” thick, upgradable to 1⁄4” thickness for additional noise cancellation and durability.

Powder coating
Another addition can be special glass powder coating, which offers additional UV protection and re-ection of up to 40% and replaces the need for a protective glass screen. This offers additional savings on AC energy during summer months.
